RESOLUTION NO. 78-298 RESOLUTION OF THE PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL (City Council, Board of Supervisors) APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE STATE LITTER CONTROL, RECYCLING AND RESOURCE RECOVERY FUND ~EREAS, the Legislature of the State of California has enacted the State Litter Control, Recycling and Resource Recovery Act which provides funds to certain entities for litter cleanup, litter law enforcement, litter education, and purchase of litter receptacles; and WHEREAS, the State Solid Waste Management Board has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program, setting up necessary procedures governing application by local agencies under the program; and I~MEREAS, said procedures established by the State Solid Waste Management Board require the applicant to certify the approval of applications prior to submission of said applications to the state; and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pleasanton (City Council, Board of Supervisors) 1. Approves the filing of an application for funding under Public Awareness- Section 68048 of the Litter Control, Recycling and Resource Recovery Fund; and 2. Certifies that said agency understands the general provisions of the grant agreement; and Authorizes the City of Pleasanto~o participate in the conduct of a County- (City or County) wide baseline survey to determine the severity of the litter problem; and 4. Authorizes the Alameda County Solid Waste Management Authority as an agent of the qity of Pleasanton to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit (City or County) all documents including but not limited to applications, grant agreements, amendments and payment requests, which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned program.
