RESOLUTION NO. 78-298 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> (City Council, Board of Supervisors) <br /> <br /> APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE <br />STATE LITTER CONTROL, RECYCLING AND RESOURCE RECOVERY FUND <br /> <br />~EREAS, the Legislature of the State of California has enacted the State <br />Litter Control, Recycling and Resource Recovery Act which provides funds <br />to certain entities for litter cleanup, litter law enforcement, litter <br />education, and purchase of litter receptacles; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State Solid Waste Management Board has been delegated the <br />responsibility for the administration of the program, setting up necessary <br />procedures governing application by local agencies under the program; and <br /> <br />I~MEREAS, said procedures established by the State Solid Waste Management <br />Board require the applicant to certify the approval of applications prior <br />to submission of said applications to the state; and <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pleasanton <br /> (City Council, Board of Supervisors) <br /> <br />1. Approves the filing of an application for funding under Public Awareness- <br /> <br />Section 68048 of the Litter Control, Recycling and Resource Recovery Fund; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />2. Certifies that said agency understands the general provisions of the <br /> <br />grant agreement; and <br /> <br />Authorizes the City of Pleasanto~o participate in the conduct of a County- <br /> (City or County) <br />wide baseline survey to determine the severity of the litter problem; and <br /> <br />4. Authorizes the Alameda County Solid Waste Management Authority as an agent <br /> <br />of the qity of Pleasanton to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit <br /> (City or County) <br />all documents including but not limited to applications, grant agreements, <br /> <br />amendments and payment requests, which may be necessary for the completion <br /> <br />of the aforementioned program. <br /> <br /> <br />
