CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 79-40 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE COUNTY AS GRANTEE FOR CITY <br />TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT, ARTICLE 4.5 FUNDS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there is a need for door-to-door transportation for elderly <br /> and handicapped residents of the City of Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council wishes to provide special needs transporta- <br />tion services for elderly and handicapped residents of <br />the City of Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />a specific amount is set aside each year for the use of <br />cities and the County of Alameda for Community Transit <br />Services, as authorized in Article 4.5 of the California <br />Transportation Act, as amended; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton has participated in the development <br />of a valley-wide program with representatives from the <br />County, City of Livermore, Livermore Area Park and Recrea- <br />tion District, Dublin/San Ramon Services District, and <br />community representatives of the elderly and handicapped; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council agrees that there should be one grantee and <br />one valley-wide coordinated paratransit program to increase <br />the level of service and facilitate the inter-community <br />transportation needs of the elderly and handicapped; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The County of Alameda be authorized to prepare a grant <br /> application and a final claim pursuant to Article 4.5, <br /> California Transportation Development Act, as amended, for <br /> funds set aside for the City of Pleasanton and said appli- <br /> cation and claim be submitted to the Metropolitan Transpor- <br /> tation Commission, Berkeley, California. <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution may be amended or revoked at anytime <br /> upon proper notification by the City Council or County. <br /> <br />Section 3.
