CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79-46 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT FOR <br />DEL VALLE PARKWAY EXTENSION AND CERTIFYING THAT THE REPORT <br />HAS BEEN COMPLETED IN COMPLIANCE WITH CALIFORNIA ENVIRON- <br />MENTAL QUALITY ACT AND STATE GUIDELINES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />a joint application was made in 1978 to the Public Utilities <br />Commission by the Cities of Livermore and Pleasanton and <br />Alameda County (serving as lead agency) to consolidate the <br />tracks of the Western Pacific and Southern Pacific Rail- <br />road Companies, and the application was reviewed and ranked <br />by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />subsequent to receiving the PUC ranking, the consulting <br />engineering firm of DeLeuw, Cather and Company prepared <br />the necessary Environmental Impact Report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />after a public hearing on February 13, 1979, Council adopted <br />Resolution No. 79-17, certifying that the Environmental <br />Impact Report for the Railroad Track Consolidation prepared <br />by DeLeuw, Cather and Company had been completed in com- <br />pliance with California Environmental Quality Act and State <br />Guidelines, and identifying significant impacts; and <br /> <br />it was determined that a separate Environmental Impact <br />Report should be prepared on the extension of the Del Valle <br />Parkway which would be involved in the Railroad Consolida- <br />tion Project to meet the City's agreement with Pleasanton <br />Safe Streets Association (PSSA), as one of the project <br />alternatives would extend the existing Del Valle Parkway <br />to Main Street; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />a public hearing was held by the City Council on March 29, <br />1979, on the Final Environmental Impact Report of the Del <br />Valle Parkway Extension, at which time members of the staff <br />and the public were given an opportunity to present testi- <br />mony, both oral and documentary, and it was determined that <br />the Final EIR on the Del Valle Parkway Extension as a part <br />of the Sunol-Pleasanton-Livermore Track Consolidation Pro- <br />ject was adequate and complete; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Certifies the Final Environmental Impact Report on the <br /> Del Valle Parkway Extension as a part of the Sunol-Pleasanton- <br /> Livermore Track Consolidation Project as being adequate and <br /> complete. <br /> <br />Section 2. Certifies that the Environmental Impact Report has been <br /> completed in compliance with the California Environmental <br /> Quality Act and State Guidelines. <br /> <br /> <br />
