CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79-42 <br /> <br />REVIEW OF BEDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR <br />THE CONSTRUCTION OF PETERS AVENUE IMPROVEMENT <br />PROJECT NO. 79-1 TO EUGENE ALVES CONSTRUCTION <br />CO., INC. <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />The City prepared plans and specifications for the <br />improvement of Peters Avenue Project No. 79-1; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Pursuant to Government Code #37900, et seq., the City <br />Engineering Services Department advertised for bids <br />regarding this project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Bids were received and reviewed by the City Council <br />at their meeting of March 29, 1979;and <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />The bid of Eugene Alves Construction Co., <br />amount of $77,880.50 was determined to be <br />responsible bid; and <br /> <br />Inc., in the <br />the lowest <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />The Director of Public Works and Utilities recommended <br />that the bid of Eugene Alves Construction Co., Inc., be <br />accepted; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />The available fund to complete this project is <br />$75,512.50 and staff has recommended that the addi- <br />tional $2,368.00 needed for the project be provided <br />from the Capital Improvement Fund. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. <br /> <br />The bid of Eugene Alves Construction Co., Inc., in the <br />amount of $77,880.50 for the construction of the <br />Peters Avenue Improvement, Project No. 79-1, is hereby <br />accepted by the City Council as the lowest responsible <br />bid. <br /> <br />Section 2o <br /> <br />Approval is hereby given to provide the additional <br />$2,368.00 needed for the project from the Capital <br />Improvement Fund. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />The City is authorized to enter into a contract with <br />Eugene Alves Construction Co., Inc., for the improve- <br />ments specified above. <br /> <br /> <br />
