CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 79-62 <br /> <br />APPROVING NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR APPLICATION OF LONGS <br />DRUG STORES, INC., FOR AN AMENDMENT TO THE GENERAL PLAN <br />TO CHANGE LAND USE DESIGNATION OF A 4-ACRE SITE LOCATED <br />AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF VALLEY AVENUE AND SANTA RITA <br />ROAD FROM "MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL" AND "PARKS AND <br />RECREATION" TO "COMMERCIAL AND OFFICES" AND "PARKS AND <br />RECREATION" <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> <br />Longs Drug Stores, Inc., filed a request with the City of <br />Pleasanton to change the General Plan land use designation <br />for a 4-acre parcel of property located on the northeast <br />corner of Valley Avenue and Santa Rita Road from "Medium <br />Density Residential" and "Parks' and Recreation" to Commer- <br />cial and Offices" and "Parks and Recreation"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Planning Division of the Department of Planning and <br />Community Development made an initial study of the environ- <br />mental consequences of said request; and <br /> <br />the Director of Planning recommended the preparation of a <br />Negative Declaration; and <br /> <br />the initial study and recommendation of the Director of <br />Planning were considered by the City Council at its meeting <br />of April 24, 1979; and <br /> <br />the City Council had before it at that time the Environmen- <br />tal Impact Guidelines and Procedures adopted by the City <br />Council on February 28, 1977, by Resolution No. 77-66; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />on April 24, 1979, the City Council held a public hearing <br />at which time any member of the public who desired to do <br />so was offered the opportunity to address the Council regard- <br />ing the initial study recommending a Negative Declaration. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1. The City Council has reviewed the initial study and pro- <br />posed Negative Declaration for the 4-Acre parcel on the <br />northeast corner of Valley Avenue and Santa Rita Road owned <br />by Longs Drugs, Inc., has received public input on the pro- <br />posed Negative Declaration and has reviewed the provisions <br />of Sections 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 5.5 of the Environmental <br />Impact Guidelines and procedures of the City of Pleasanton <br />adopted by Resolution No. 77-66 on February 28, 1977, in <br />order to determine if a Negative Declaration or an Environ- <br />mental Impact Report should be prepared for the proposed <br />General Plan Amendment. <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />2. The City Council determines that a Negative Declaration <br /> is appropriate for the proposed General Plan Amendment for <br /> Longs Drugs, Inc., recommended to the City Council in the <br /> Director of Planning's report of April 18, 1979 since the <br /> <br /> <br />
