CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION N0.79-98 A RESOLUTION MAKING APPLICATI'ON TO ALAMEDA COUNTY LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION REQUESTING INITIATION OF PROCEEDINGS FOR PROPOSED ANNEXATION NO. 76 PURSUANT TO THE MUNICIPAL ORGANIZATION ACT OF 1977 WHEREAS, pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977, beginning with Section 35000 of the Government Code, an affected city, as therein defined, may by resolu- tion adopted by its legislative body, make a proposal for an "annexation" and request initiation of proceed- ings thereon; and WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton is an "affected city" for an annexation proposal which contains territory proposed to be annexed as part of said City. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON FOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. This City Council, as the legislative body of an affected city, does hereby make a proposal for annexation pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977 and does hereby request proceedings pursuant to such act. Section 2. The annexation shall consist of the following change in organization: That 0.52 acres, more or less, area commonly known as Sunol Boulevard, from Sycamore Road to 340' % northerly of Sycamore Road, shall be changed for unincorporated Alameda Count lands to land within the City of Pleasanton. Said territory is found to be uninhabited and is more specifically described in Exhibit "A," attached hereto and incorporated herein. Section 3. This City Council does hereby declare that its reasons for proposing this annexation are: To clarify the responsibilities of law enforcement and maintenance. Section 4. A certified copy of this resolution shall be transmitted to the Alameda County Local Agency Formation Commission. Section 5. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon~ its passage and adoption.
