CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION N0.79-98 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION MAKING APPLICATI'ON TO ALAMEDA COUNTY <br />LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION REQUESTING INITIATION <br />OF PROCEEDINGS FOR PROPOSED ANNEXATION NO. 76 PURSUANT <br />TO THE MUNICIPAL ORGANIZATION ACT OF 1977 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977, <br />beginning with Section 35000 of the Government Code, <br />an affected city, as therein defined, may by resolu- <br />tion adopted by its legislative body, make a proposal <br />for an "annexation" and request initiation of proceed- <br />ings thereon; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton is an "affected city" for an <br />annexation proposal which contains territory proposed <br />to be annexed as part of said City. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON FOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1. This City Council, as the legislative body of an affected <br />city, does hereby make a proposal for annexation pursuant <br />to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977 and does hereby <br />request proceedings pursuant to such act. <br /> <br />Section 2. The annexation shall consist of the following change <br /> in organization: <br /> <br />That 0.52 acres, more or less, area commonly known as <br />Sunol Boulevard, from Sycamore Road to 340' % northerly <br />of Sycamore Road, shall be changed for unincorporated <br />Alameda Count lands to land within the City of Pleasanton. <br />Said territory is found to be uninhabited and is more <br />specifically described in Exhibit "A," attached hereto <br />and incorporated herein. <br /> <br />Section 3. This City Council does hereby declare that its reasons <br /> for proposing this annexation are: <br /> <br />To clarify the responsibilities of law enforcement and <br />maintenance. <br /> <br />Section 4. A certified copy of this resolution shall be transmitted <br /> to the Alameda County Local Agency Formation Commission. <br /> <br />Section 5. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon~ <br /> its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
