CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 79-118 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />REQUESTING THAT ALAMMDA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS <br />APPOINT STANLEY KEPHART TO THE JUDICIAL COUNCIL <br /> <br />on the 22nd of May, ~979, the City Council of the City <br />of PleasantOn received a report from Councilman Kephart <br />regarding the proposed jail facility at Santa Rita prison; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />the Council was informed that the Judicial Council considers <br />penal and correctional facilities which have significant <br />effects in the Livermore-Amador Valley and all of Alameda <br />County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council at that time authorized Mayor Brandes to <br />send a letter to the'Board of Supervisors requesting that <br />Councilman Kephart b~ considered for appointment to the <br />Judicial Council in order to review jail proposals: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a question has been raised as to whether the City Council <br /> intended to do what it did on the 22nd of May, 1979. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1. To restate, reiterate, resolve, repeat and relate that <br />the Council intendedzto take the action it did on May 22, <br />1979, and further reauthorize Mayor Brandes to repeat his <br />request for the appointment of Stan Kephart to the Judicial <br />Council. <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION WAS ADOPTED ON JULY 24, 1979, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Kephart, Mercer, Butler, and Mayor Brandes <br /> <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Wood <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Clayton E.
