CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79-117 <br /> <br />SUPPORTING THE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES <br />GENERAL ASSEMBLY ON AMENDMENT OF THE INITIATIVE <br />CONSTITUTIONAL SERVICES RESULTING FROM NEW IN- <br />DUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />the Initiative Constitutional Amendment known as the <br />"Spirit of 13" Initiative has qualified for and been <br />scheduled on the special State of California election <br />of November 6, 1979; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the "Spirit of 13" Initiative makes no provision for <br />financing expansion of municipal services to new indus- <br />trial and commercial development in this state; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the failure to provide financing of new industrial and <br />commercial development will adversely affect the develop- <br />ment of industry and commerce in this state. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Supports the League of California Cities in aggressive- <br /> ly pursuing implementing legislation and further con- <br /> stitutional amendment to provide adequate financing to <br /> municipal services required for new industrial and com- <br /> mercial development within this state. <br /> <br />Section 2.
