CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79-128 <br /> <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO RETAIN A CONSULTANT <br />TO PREPARE AN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT ON THE <br />TRUCK WEIGHT LIMITATIONS ORDINANCE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council, by Resolution No. 79-95 adopted on <br />June 12, 1979, authorized the City Manager to give not- <br />ice to the Gravel Producers (Kaiser Industries, Rhodes <br />and Jamieson, Lone Star Industries and California Rock <br />and Gravel Company) of termination of the October 9, <br />1972 agreement between the City of Pleasanton and the <br />Gravel Producers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council on June 12, 1979, also introduced Ord- <br />inance No. 891 prohibiting overweight vehicles from <br />certain City streets; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />in July, 1979, the gravel companies filed claims for <br />damages for contract termination, future loss of rev- <br />enues and additional costs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of July 24, 1979, the City Council de- <br /> liberated on this matter; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1. Authorizes the City Manager to retain a consultant <br />and enter into an agreement with the consultant to <br />prepare an environmental impact report on the truck <br />weight limitations ordinance. <br /> <br />Section 2.
