CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79-125 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION REJECTING BIDS ON VETERANS MEMORIAL <br />BUILDING HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT IMPROVE- <br />MENT PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING STAFF TO NEGOTIATE <br />ACCEPTABLE BIDS AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE WORK <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />on July 5, 1979, bids were opened pertaining to the re- <br />placement of the heating system and revisions to the <br />plumbing and electrical systems of the Veterans Memorial <br />Building planned for the building under Housing and Com- <br />munity Development Act funding; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />all of the bids received were in excess of the funds avail- <br />able to undertake the project and staff recommended that <br />the bids be rejected and the City Manager be authorized <br />to negotiate acceptable bids for the work with local <br />subcontractors in order to undertake the project; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1. All bids received for the Veterans Memorial Building <br /> Housing and Community Development Improvement Project <br /> are hereby rejected and staff is authorized to negotiate <br /> acceptable bids for the work with local subcontractors <br /> in order to undertake the project. <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon <br /> its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED ON JULY 24, 1979 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Butler, Kephart, Mercer, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br /> <br /> N ES JR., <br />ClaYtOn E.
