CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 79-178 WHEREAS, WHEREAS , WHEREAS, WHEREAS, APPROVING EXTENDING AGREEMENT WITH MR. ROBERT NIELSEN FOR LEASE OF PASTURE L~D ADJACENT TO SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT the City leases land adjacent to the sewage treatment plant from the City and County of San Francisco to spray effluent as a part of the treatment plant operation; and Mr. Robert Nielsen has sub-leased the land from the City for the past six years as cattle grazing land and the current lease agreement expires October 31, 1979; and the grazing of cattle on the irrigated pasture land is important to the control of grass and weeds and if grazing did not take place the fields would have to be mowed; and since the City's plant may be phased-out by July, a full year lease which would include the summer months can not be offered to someone to graze cattle; and WHEREAS, a report dated October 2, 1979, from the Assistant City Manager recommends that the lease with Robert Nielsen be extended to October 31, 1980, or until the Sunol Plant is phased-out, whichever occurs first, and that the lease payment be set at the rate of $70 per acre per year. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approves extending the lease with Robert Nielsen to sublet 203 acres of land for cattle grazing to October 31, 1980, or until the Sunol Plant is phased-out, whichever occurs first, and that lease payment be set at the rate of $70 per acre per year. Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately after its passage and adoption.
