CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79-217 <br /> <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF PLEASANTON TO PARTICIPATE IN THE <br />STATE ABANDONED VEHICLE ABATEMENT PROGRAM AND TO EXECUTE <br />A CONTRACT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY <br />PATROL REGARDING PARTICIPATION IN THE PROGRAM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />California Vehicle Code Sections 9250.7 and 22710 provide <br />for an Abandoned Vehicle Trust Fund and a method of dis- <br />bursement of funds to local agencies that participate in <br />the State Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton, California, has adopted an Ordinance <br />in accordance with the California Vehicle Code providing for <br />the abatement of abandoned vehicles; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton, California, desires to participate <br />in the State Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program and share <br />in the monies in said Abandoned Vehicle Trust Fund: <br /> <br />NOW, <br /> <br />THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Pleasanton participate <br /> in the State Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program for the 1979- <br /> 80 fiscal year; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Manager is hereby authorized <br /> to execute the contract with the Department of the California <br /> Highway Patrol for participation in State Abandoned Vehicle <br /> Abatement Program. <br /> <br />ON MOTION OF Walter Wood, seconded by Robert Butler the foregoing <br /> order is adopted this 13th day of November, 1979, by the <br /> following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None P ~ <br /> <br />BY Doris George, Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br /> APPROVED AS TO FORM <br />ev~i~e~ttorney <br /> <br /> <br />
