WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WtlEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />NOW, <br /> <br />SectiOn <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 80-28 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ENDORSING "PROJECTIONS 79" FOR <br />PLANNING USE, SUBJECT TO PROVISIONS OF THE <br />GUIDELINES ADOPTED BY THE ASSOCIATION OF BAY <br />AREA GOVERNMENTS. <br /> <br />the General Assembly of the Association of Bay Area <br />Governments has adopted population projections for the <br />Bay Area and its counties and sewerage units; and <br /> <br />ABAG's PROJECTIONS 79 is a consistently prepared set <br />of regional projections detailing the growth and dis- <br />tribution of population, housing and employment <br />throughout the Bay Area; and <br /> <br />the projections alone are not policy targets or goals, <br />but are used to identify regional problems, needs and <br />issues, and to formulate regional policies; and <br /> <br />the projections are evaluated and updated on at least <br />an annual basis in consultation with local governments; <br />and <br /> <br />ABAG General Assembly Resolution 4-79 details the <br />limitations and uses of the projections; and <br /> <br />the City Council of the City of Pleasanton has reviewed <br />PROJECTIONS 79, ABAG'S Guidelines for the Use of <br />Projections, and the subregional study area projections <br />presented for information only in PROJECTIONS 79. <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. That the City Council of the City of Pleasanton <br />endorses PROJECTIONS 79 for planning use, subject <br />to provisions of the guidelines adopted by ABAG to <br />protect the interests of local governments° <br /> <br />2. That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to ABAG. <br /> <br /> <br />
