CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 80-21 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING BALLOTMEASURE REGARDING <br />ADVISORY VOTE ON REMOVING THE RESTRICTIONS ON THE <br />USE OF TRAFFIC LANES ON FREEWAY 1-580 AND BALLOT <br />MEASURE CALENDAR FOR ARGUMENTS AND REBUTTAL <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />in an attempt to convey to the State and the Sierra Club <br />the feelings of the citizens of Pleasanton regarding the <br />use of 1-580, Councilmember Mercer requested that a <br />measure be placed on the April ballot for advisory vote <br />only; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Attorney submitted a report regarding the <br /> calendaring of arguments and rebuttal. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The following measure is to be placed on the April <br /> ballot for advisory vote only: <br /> <br />"Shall the City of Pleasanton take all appropriate <br />steps to cause the State of California to remove the <br />restrictions on the use of traffic lanes on that <br />portion of 1-580 recently widened, west of the City <br />of Pleasanton, including the elimination of "Diamond <br />Lane Restrictions" and the completion of the travel <br />lanes currently unavailable to traffic?" <br /> <br />Section 2. The last date to submit arguments is set at February 5, <br /> 1980, and the last date for rebuttals is February 15, 1980. <br /> <br />Section 3.
