CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 80-75 <br /> <br />APPROVING PRETREATMENT PROGRAM FOR COMMERCIAL AND <br />INDUSTRIAL SEWERAGE JOINTLY WITH DSRSD AND AUTHORIZING <br />PAYMENT OF 1/2 OF COST <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City will be contributing to the DSRSD Plan in the <br />near future, and will, therefore, be responsible for <br />establishing pretreatment programs within its jursidic- <br />tion; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />pursuant to the Clean Water Act of 1977 (Public Law <br />95-217), the Environmental Protection Agency has <br />adopted pretreatment regulations (40 CFR, Part 403); <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />upon receiving these regulations discussions were held <br />between City staff and the Director of Public Works of <br />DSRSD and it appeared that it would be beneficial and <br />more economical to pursue a joint program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the District has solicited a proposal from Brown and <br /> Caldwell to conduct the initial program study; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />the Board of Directors of DSRSD has determined to proceed <br />with the initial phase of the program, and has agreed to <br />act as lead agency in preparing the necessary Grant Appli- <br />cations if the City participates in this phase on a 50-50 <br />cost sharing. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY Or PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council authorizes joint participation with <br /> DSRSD to pursue this initial program study pursuant to <br /> the proposed agreement between DSRSD and Brown and Caldwello <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorizes payment to DSRSD of 1/2 the cost of the <br /> initial phase of the program. <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />- III <br /> <br /> <br />
