CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 80-62 <br /> <br />APPROVING LANGUAGE FOR BALLOT MEASURE REGARDING <br />ADDITIONAL CAPACITY FOR INDUSTRIAL (INCLUDING <br />NON-RETAIL COMMERCIAL) USES IN THE LAVWMA PIPE- <br />LINE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting of February 26, 1980, the City Council <br />voted to place on the June, 1980, ballot a measure <br />seeking the approval of the electorate to purchase the <br />additional capacity in the Livermore-Amador Valley Water <br />Management Agency pipeline for industrial and non-retail <br />commercial developments; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council requested the City Attorney to prepare <br />suggested language to be approved at the next Council <br />meeting; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />on March 11, 1980, Council received a report from the <br />City Attorney dated March 6, 1980, SR-80-63, recommend- <br />ing language for the ballot measure; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approves the following language for the measure to be <br /> placed on the ballot for the June 3, 1980, election: <br /> <br />"Shall the City of Pleasanton acquire 500,000 <br />gallons of additional pipeline capacity for <br />industrial (including non-retail cor~ercial) <br />uses in the Livermore-Amador Valley Water Man- <br />agement Agency pipeline? All costs relating <br />to such expansion to be paid by the private <br />developers with no cost to taxpayer." <br /> <br />Section 2. Council agrees that there will be no rebuttal to any <br /> argument submitted in opposition to the measure. <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall be effective immediately. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED ON MARCH 11, 1980, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, <br />Mayor Brandes <br />None <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />Mercer, Wood and <br /> <br />III <br /> <br /> <br />
