CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 80-100 <br /> <br />RE: REVIEW OF BIDS FOR WATER SYSTEM TURNOUT NO. 4 <br />AND REJECTION OF BIDS AS BEING OVER ENGINEERS ESTI- <br />MATE AND FUNDS ALLOCATED <br /> <br />the City prepared plans and specifications for the <br />construction of Water System Turnout No. 4 located <br />on Hopyard Road and Stoneridge Drive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />pursuant to Government Code #37900, et seq., the City <br />Engineering Services Department advertised for bids <br />for this project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, five bids were rejected which ranged from a low bid <br /> of $123,040 to a high bid of $167,400; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting of April 22, 1980, the City Council <br />received a report from the Director of Engineering <br />Services dated April 14, 1980, recommending that all <br />bids be rejected because all the bids were over the <br />Engineer's estimate and the funds allocated for the <br />project of $84,000; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Council hereby rejects all of the bids for Water <br /> System Turnout No. 4 located on Hopyard Road and <br /> Stoneridge Drive because all of the bids were over <br /> the Engineer's estimate and the fund allocated to <br /> this project. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorizes the project to be divided into sub- <br /> contracts and that existing contracts with contractors <br /> presently working on the Stoneridge projects be extend- <br /> ed or changed by contract change orders to effect <br /> contruction of the turnout. <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION A~OPTED ON APRIL 22, 1980, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Councilmembers - Butler, Mohr and Mayor Mercer <br />None <br />Councilmembers - Kephart and Wood <br />None <br /> <br />III <br /> <br /> <br />
