CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 80-86 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE NOTEWORTHY <br />ACHIEVEMENTS OF FRANK C. BRANDES, JR., <br />AS MAYOR AND COUNCILMEMBER FOR THE <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Frank C. Brandes, Jr., has exhibited superior leadership in the <br />City Council serving the con~nunity four years from 1976 to 1980 <br />during a particularly challenging period for city governments; and <br /> <br />he has served one year as Mayor of the City of Pleasanton, from <br />March 13, 1979, to April 15, 1980, demonstrating the highest level <br />of political acumen tempered with outspoken candidness; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, his expertise in the management of city government will be of benefit <br /> in future years to the citizens of Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />during his tenure the Stoneridge Shopping Center became a reality, <br />the Livermore Amador Valley Water MAnagement Agency pipeline com- <br />pleted, the commercial sector strengthened, and the park system <br />expanded. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Commends Frank C. Brandes, Jr., for his dedication toward serving <br /> to enhance the quality of life in the community of Pleasanton; for <br /> his indomitable spirit in facing the special challenge of city govern- <br /> ment specific to this time in California history; and for the profound <br /> influence he has had on directing the future of the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution will take effect immediately. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED ON APRIL 15, 1980, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br />AYES: Councilmenbets Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, aud Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> / <br /> <br /> R.
