CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 80-110 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE PARKLAND AND RENEWABLE <br />RESOURCES INVESTMENT PROGRAM <br /> <br />Proposition I, "Parkland and Renewable Resources Investment Program", to <br />be voted upon in June has a provision to provide $95,000,000 in 100% grants; <br />and <br /> <br />Alameda County's estimated allocation is $4,343,571, to be distributed in <br />accordance with a priority plan developed and approved by 50% of the eligible <br />Jurisdictions containing at least 50% of the population of the County; and <br /> <br />the Urban Park Program may provide a 75% Grant Program for Urbanized Areas <br />for acquisition and development of park, recreation land, facilities, and <br />open space; and <br /> <br />I,PrlEREAS, <br /> <br />the Coastal Recreation Resources includes grants to counties, cities, and <br />districts for acquisition and development, rehabilitation or restoration of <br />real property for the implementation of local and coastal programs; and <br /> <br />there are also a large number of additional programs under the Act providing <br />money for the State Park System and other park and recreation related uses; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. an equitable and fair method for distribution of the Alameda County alloca- <br /> tion of funding is required. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON recommends that the fund- <br /> ing available under the Parkland and Renewable Resources Investment Program <br /> be distributed as follows: <br /> <br />The cities and special districts within Alameda County shall <br />receive 85% of the County allocation from Parklands and Re- <br />newable Resources Investment Program based upon population. <br /> <br />The Regional Park Agencies shall receive 15% of the Parklands <br />and Renewable Resources Investment allocation to Alameda County. <br /> <br />All agencies shall be encouraged to include historical re- <br />sources preservation projects. <br /> <br />All agencies including state, regional, city, and special <br />districts are encouraged to cooperate in Joint efforts to <br />maximize the use of Parklands and Renewable Resources In- <br />vestment Program funding to provide recreation, park, open <br />space, and historical facilities. <br /> <br />Bay area shorelands shall be considered eligible to receive <br />funds available for Coastal Recreation Projects. <br /> <br /> <br />
