CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 80-106 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF CONTINUATION OF THE <br />VALLEY MENTAL HEALTH FACILITIES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Valley Council for Mental Health which is an affiliate of the Mental <br />Health Association of Alameda County, and the Valley Mental Health Advisory <br />Committee affiliated with the Alameda-Contra Costa Health System Agency and <br />the Alameda County Health Services, represent the mental health interests <br />of the Valley; and <br /> <br />the Valley receives $10.50 per person, the lowest per capita allocation <br />of the County's mental health budget, and proposals are being considered <br />by the County Mental Health Services and Health Care Services Agency to <br />reduce the budget of the Valley Mental Health Clinic by 20 percent or <br />more; and <br /> <br />the Valley is the only area of the County where overnight psychiatric emer- <br />gency or in-patient services are not available, which makes the need for <br />adequate out-patient services even more important. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON does request that the <br /> Alameda County Board of Supervisors, the Alameda County Mental Health <br /> Advisory Board and the Health Care Services give adequate consideration <br /> to the particular needs of the Valley and the services provided by the <br /> Valley Council for Mental Health prior to making reductions to the budget <br /> of the Valley Council for Mental Health and that every effort is made to <br /> replace the Hopyard Road facility with an equally suitable clinic within <br /> the Valley. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED ON APRIL 22, 1980, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br />None <br />Councilmembers Kephart and Wood <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />By Doris George, Deputy City Clerk <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br /> he, City Attorney <br /> <br /> <br />
