CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 80-127 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION SELECTING JACK BRAS AND ASSOCIATES AS THE <br />ARCHITECT TO PLAN AND DESIGN A NEW POLICE FACILITY FOR <br />PLEASANTON AND AUTHORIZING THE STAFF TO ENTER INTO THE <br />APPROPRIATE AGREEMENT TO COMPLETE PHASE I AT A COST NOT <br />TO EXCEED $7,500. <br /> <br />~EREAS, the Pleasanton Police Department has for a number of years <br /> used the old City Hall for a police station; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />the facility has become inadequate to house the operations <br />of the Police Department due to increased staff necessary <br />to handle the problems associated with the increase in the <br />City's population; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council appropriated funds in the 1979-80 Capital <br />Improvement Program to plan and design a police building to <br />be constructed on the Civic Center site; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />funds are not available to construct the new facility at <br />the present time, some planning and design work is needed <br />to proceed with securing financing for the project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Police Chief has visited several recently constructed <br />police buildings and has obtained drawings and sketches of <br />facilities to assist in preliminary plans for the Pleasanton <br />police building; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />City staff interviewed architectural firms interested in <br />developing plans for the project and the City Council at <br />its meeting of May 13, 1980, reviewed the City Manager's <br />report dated May 7, 1980, related to the selection of the <br />architectural firm; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approves the selection of Jack Bras and Associates as <br /> the architect to plan and design a new police facility <br /> for Pleasanton, and authorizes the staff to enter into <br /> the appropriate a reement to complete Phase I plans at a <br /> cost not to excee~ $7,500. <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution shall be effective immediately. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED ON MAY 13, 1980, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Kephart, Mohr, Wood and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember - Butler <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />III <br /> <br /> <br />
