CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 80-163 <br /> <br />REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO SUTPHEN CORPORATION <br />TO PROVIDE AN ELEVATED STREAM FIRE APPARATUS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting of June 24, 1980, the City Council received <br />a report dated June 24, 1980, from the Fire Chief, indicating <br />that bids had been received and evaluated for an elevated <br />stream fire apparatus which is needed by the City's Fire <br />Department; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the preliminary cost estimateof $$161,878 for this type <br />of apparatus had been included in the Capital Improvement <br />Budget for 1979-80; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the firm of Sutphen Corporation had submitted a net bid of <br />$175.725, an increase over the preliminary cost estimate <br />because the cost of the apparatus has escalated since the <br />original estimate was made; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1. Approves awarding the bid contract to Sutphen Corporation <br />based on their ability to provide an elevated stream fire <br />apparatus with useable boom capability of sixty-five (65') <br />feet and the ability to meet the City's specifications with <br />design changes due to the mid-mount boom turntable. <br /> <br />Section 2. Approves financing the purchase of the apparatus through <br /> the 5-year lease purchase option offered by the manufacturer <br /> as set forth in the report of the Fire Chief dated June 24, <br /> 1980. <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon its <br /> adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED ON JUNE 24, 1980, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Butler, Mohr, Wood and Mayor Mercer <br /> <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilmember Kephart <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> ATTEST: <br /> KENNETH R.
