CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 80-217 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION WITH THE M~TROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION FOR ALLOCATION OF TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 1980-81 WHEREAS, the Transportation Development Act of 1971 provides for the disbursement of funds from the Local Transporta- tion Fund of the County of Alameda for use by eligible claimants for the purpose of providing special needs transportation to senior and handicapped residents of Pleasanton; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the rules and regulations that have been adopted by the Secretary of the Business and Transporta- tion Agency of the State of California in accordance with the provisions of the aforementioned legislation, an eligible claimant wishing to receive an allocation from the Local Transportation Fund shall file its application with the appropriate transportation planning agency; and WHEREAS, funds from the Local Transportation Fund will be required to provide door-to-door transportation to seniors,age 60 and over, and handicapped of any age in order that they maintain an independent lifestyle; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The Director of Recreation and Human Resources is authorized to execute and file an appropriate claim pursuant to the terms of the Transportation Development Act of 1971, as amended, and pursuant to applicable rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, together with all necessary supporting documents, with the Metro- politan Transportation Commission, for fiscal year 1980-81 Transportation Development Act monies. Section 2: A copy of this resolution shall be transmitted to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission in conjunction with the filing of the claim; and the Metropolitan Trans- portation Commission be requested to concur in these findings and grant the allocation of funds as specified herein. Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
