CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 80-217 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION <br />WITH THE M~TROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION FOR <br />ALLOCATION OF TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT FUNDS <br />FOR FISCAL YEAR 1980-81 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Transportation Development Act of 1971 provides <br />for the disbursement of funds from the Local Transporta- <br />tion Fund of the County of Alameda for use by eligible <br />claimants for the purpose of providing special needs <br />transportation to senior and handicapped residents of <br />Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />pursuant to the rules and regulations that have been <br />adopted by the Secretary of the Business and Transporta- <br />tion Agency of the State of California in accordance <br />with the provisions of the aforementioned legislation, <br />an eligible claimant wishing to receive an allocation <br />from the Local Transportation Fund shall file its <br />application with the appropriate transportation planning <br />agency; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />funds from the Local Transportation Fund will be required <br />to provide door-to-door transportation to seniors,age <br />60 and over, and handicapped of any age in order that <br />they maintain an independent lifestyle; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The Director of Recreation and Human Resources is <br /> authorized to execute and file an appropriate claim <br /> pursuant to the terms of the Transportation Development <br /> Act of 1971, as amended, and pursuant to applicable <br /> rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, together <br /> with all necessary supporting documents, with the Metro- <br /> politan Transportation Commission, for fiscal year <br /> 1980-81 Transportation Development Act monies. <br /> <br />Section 2: A copy of this resolution shall be transmitted to <br /> the Metropolitan Transportation Commission in conjunction <br /> with the filing of the claim; and the Metropolitan Trans- <br /> portation Commission be requested to concur in these <br /> findings and grant the allocation of funds as specified <br /> herein. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
