ARTICLE VI: ENGINEER'S RESPONSIBILITY <br /> <br /> The ENGINEER agrees that his services shall be performed <br />in accordance with generally accepted engineering practices, <br />but makes no other warranty either expressed or implied. <br />The parties agree that estimated cost figures furnished by <br />the ENGINEER are estimates only and the ENGINEER is not <br />responsible for fluctuations in cost factors. <br /> <br /> Visits to the construction site and observations made <br />by the ENGINEER as part of the construction phase shall not <br />relieve the construction contractor of his obligation to <br />conduct comprehensive inspections of the work sufficient to <br />ensure conformance with the intent of the Contract Documents, <br />and shall not relieve the construction contractor of his <br />full responsibility for all construction means, methods, <br />techniques, sequences, and procedures necessary for coordi- <br />nating and completing all portions of the work under the <br />construction contract and for all safety precautions inciden- <br />tal thereto. Such visits by the ENGINEER are not to be <br />construed as part of the inspection duties of the Resident <br />Inspector. <br /> <br /> The Resident Inspector and necessary assistants will <br />make diligent efforts to guard the CLIENT against defects <br />and deficiencies in the work of the contractor(s) and tO <br />help determine if the provisions of the Contract Documents <br />are being fulfilled. Their day-to-day inspection will not, <br />however, cause the ENGINEER to be responsible for those <br />duties and responsibilities which belong to the construction <br /> <br />-5- <br /> <br /> <br />
