CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 80-233 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE HIRING OF TWO POLICE OFFICERS AND THE PURCHASE OF TWO FULLY EQUIPPED MOTORCYCLES WHEREAS, in April, 1979, the Police Department submitted a request to the California Office of Traffic Safety for a funding grant to permit the hiring of two additional police officers and the purchase of two fully equipped motor- cycles; and WHEREAS, in July, 1980, the City received official notice that Pleasanton would not receive the funding; and WHEREAS, the current traffic flow and accident rate statistics, coupled with the probable increase in related problems justify the additional expenditure on the part of the City of Pleasanton to hire the two police officers and purchase the necessary equipment. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Approves the amendment of the 1980-81 Operating Budget to allow for the hiring of two police officers trained for patrol duty and the purchase of two fully equipped motorcycles. Section 2: Approves the following estimated expenses: First Year Cost (8 Months - November 1980 - June 1981) Police Officer (2 @ $20,070 each) $40 Motorcycles (2 @ $5,000 each) 10 Motorycle Radios (2 @ $2,350 each) 4 Handi-Talkies (2 @ $1,800 each) 3 Uniforms & Safety Equipment 3 Maintenance & Service (20,000miles @ $0.14) 2 140 000 700 600 500 800 Total First Year Cost (8 Months) $64,740 Section 3: This resolution shall become effective irmnediately upon its final passage and adoption.
