CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 80-231 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF PLEASANTON, CALIFORNIA, <br />TAKING THE POSITION THAT THE MATTER OF THE PERIPHERAL CANAL <br />SHOULD BE PUT ON THE BALLOT FOR PUBLIC CONSIDERATION; AND IN <br />THE EVF~T ITS BALLOT RECOMMENDATION IS NOT ACTED UPON, ~X- <br />PRESSI~]G ITS DESIRE TO GO ON RECORD AS BEING OPPOSED TO THE <br />PERIPHERAL CANAL <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON that as a result <br />of a unanimous vote by its members at its regularly-scheduled meeting on <br />September 16, 1980, takes the position that the matter of the peripheral <br />canal should be put on the ballot for public consideration. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON that <br />in the absence of affirmative action on a ballot measure, the City Council <br />of the City of Pleasanton wishes to go on record as being opposed to the <br />peripheral canal. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED ON SEPTEMBER 16, 1980, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br />None <br />Councilmember Wood <br /> <br /> KENNETH R.
