CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 81-18 REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR THE YOUTH SPORTS PARK, PEASE III, FIELD IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT NO. 81-4, TO ALAMEDA FENCE, INC., ACCEPTANCE OF LITTLE LEAGUE OFFER TO CONTRIBUTE $17,000 TO PROJECT AND APPROPRIATION OF $17,000 ADDITIONAL FUNDS FROM THE AMADOR PARK PICNIC FACILITY PROJECT WHEREAS, the City prepared plans and specifications for the improvement of Youth Sports Park, Phase III, field improvements, Project No. 81-4; and WHEREAS pursuant to Government Code 37900, et seq., the City Engineering Services Division advertised for bids regarding this project; and WHEREAS bids were reviewed by the City Council on January 27, 1981; and WHEREAS, the bid of Alameda Fence, Inc. in the amount of $83,116.00 was determined to be the lowest responsible bid; and WHEREAS, the available funds to complete this project are $50,000; and staff met with representatives of both the American and National Little Leagues, who have offered to pay to the City $17,000 to offset one-half of the excess cost for the field improvements; and WHEREAS, the additional $17,000 needed to cover the excess cost could come from unused funds allocated for Amador Park Picnic Facilities. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The bid Gf~Alameda Fence, Inc. in the sum of $83,116.00 for the basic improvements and alternatives 1, 2 and 4 listed on the staff report is hereby accepted by the City Council as the lowest responsible bid. Section 2: Accepts the offer of the Little Leagues to pay $17,000 to assist in the excess cost of the Youth Sports Park, Phase III, field imDrovements and directs staff to request the leagues to make'this payment prior to start of construction on the project.
