CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 81-39 REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR THE INSTALLATION OF NINE ELECTROLIERS AT CREEKS BEND (TRACT 3359) AND ONE ELECTROLlER AT VINTAGE HILLS (TRACT 4119) WHEREAS, ~EREAS, during the street light policy transition period, nine lights in Tract 3359 were deleted; and at the m~eting of June 24, 1980, the City Council determined that the nine street lights should be installed to provide residents the opportunity to have them turned on if they pay the monthly bill; and it was expected that P G & E would install the lights, however, P G & E is not willing to install the lights; and WHEREAS, the only apparent way to accomplish the installation is to do it by contract paid for by the City; and WHEREAS, a similar situation of lack of a street light at the end of Touriga Court in Tract 4119 exists; and pursuant to Government Code 37900, et seq., the City Engineering Services Division advertised for bids regarding this project; and WHEREAS, the bid of Steiny and Company, Inc. in the amount of $10,612.00 was determined to be the lowest responsible bid; and ~EREAS, the Director of Public Works and Utilities recommended that the bid of Steiny and Company, Inc. be accepted;and WHEREAS, the available funds to complete this project are $3,539.00. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The bid of Steiny and Company, Inc., in the amount of $10,612.00 for installation of nine electroliers in Tract 3359 and one electrolier in Tract 4119 is hereby accepted by the City Council as the lowest responsible bid. Section 2: Appropriates an additional $7,500 for the project to bring the total funds available to cover the contract cost and other minor P G & E connection charges to $11,039.00.
