CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />AL~4EDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-49 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING WATER CONSERVATION STUDY <br />BY BROWN AND CALDWELL <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />due to water conservation by residents and businesses <br />plus changes in the plumbing code, it is estimated <br />that the 280 GPD sewer flow being used for each <br />Dwelling Unit Equivalent (D.U.E.) has been reduced; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />before assuming that additional connections are available <br />at the treatment plant and in the LAVWMA pipeline, the <br />flows from existing units must be determined and a <br />reliable estimate of future connections must be made; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />on December 23, 1980, Council authorized the expenditure <br />of $1,350 to have Brown and Caldwell do some preliminary <br />work prior to approval of a study; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Brown and Caldwell have now prepared a proposal for <br /> the study which is estimated to cost $75,575.00; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Sewer Committee of DSRSD and Pleasanton agree that <br />the cost of the study should be financed from the Sewer <br />Expansion fund held by DSRSD: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the study could increase the number of connections which <br />could be made to the treatment plant and LAVWMA pipeline <br />by as much as 20%. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Approves the water conservation study by Brown and <br /> Caldwell. <br /> <br />Section 2: Authorizes DSRSD to pay for the study from the Sewer <br /> Expansion Fund. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED FEBRUARY 24, 1981 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br /> <br />
