CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 81-114 A RESOLUTION MAKING APPLICATION TO ALAMEDA COUNTY LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION (LAFCO) REQUESTING INITIATION OF PROCEEDINGS FOR PROPOSED ANNEXATION NO. 84 PURSUANT TO THE MUNICIPAL ORGANIZATION ACT OF 1977. WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977, beginning with Section 35000 of the Government Code, an affected city, as therein defined, may, by resolution adopted by its legislative body, make a proposal for an "Annexation and Detachments" and request initiation of proceedings thereon; and the"C~t~of Pleasanton is an "affected city" for an anneXa~o~ prop~,s~!twhich contains territory proposed to be annexed-as part of said City; and the owner of said property has consented to this annex- ation. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. This City Council, as the legislative body of an affected City, does hereby make a proposal for annexation pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977, and does hereby request proceedings pursuant to such act. Section 2. The annexation shall consist of the following change in organization: that 51 acres, more or less, located westerly of the City limits, on the westerly side of Foothill Road opposite Foothill High School, shall be changed from unincorporated Alameda County lands to land within the City of Pleasanton. Said territory is found to be uninhabited and is more specifically described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein. Section 3. This City Council does hereby declare that its reasons for proposing this annexation are: Annexation of.this property would make available a substantial number of City services to the residences. In addition to giving the City control of any development. The property is also a part of the larger territory which should ultimately be included in the City.
