CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALA}~DA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-104 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REAFFIRMING CITY COUNCIL'S POSITION <br />REGARDING AFFORDABLE HOUSING <br /> <br />WtIEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting of December 9,1980, the City Council <br />received a presentation by Buzz Martin and Mac <br />McCoy on providing affordable housing with partici- <br />pation by the City, i.e. free or below market rate <br />land, waiver of fees, shorten processing time, <br />etc.; and <br /> <br />V~HEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting of February 10, 1981, the City <br />Council further discussed affordable housing and <br />requested the City Attorney to present a report <br />regarding the Martin proposal and an inventory of <br />available City land; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting of April 21, Mr. Martin requested <br />Council to make a formal commitment to support <br />affordable housing in Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />~IEREAS, <br /> <br />Council did not feel it was fair that the llartin <br />project be the only vehicle to be considered as <br />affordable housing in the city; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Council wished to confirm its position regarding <br /> affordable housing; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASA~ITON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Reaffirms the City Council's position in favor <br /> of finding solutions to the housing problems in <br /> Pleasanton, especially as they relate to affordable <br /> housing. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED APRIL 21, 1981 BY THE FOLLOWING <br />VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood <br /> and Mayor Mercer ~~,~ <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />BD <br /> y Doris George, eputy City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
