CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-170 <br /> <br />REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR SIDEWALK <br />REPAIR ON VARIOUS CITY STREETS, PROJECT NO. 81-11, <br />TO SPOSETO CONSTRUCTION COMPANY OF UNION CITY, INC. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City prepared plans and specifications for sidewalk <br /> repair on various city streets, Project No. 81-11; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />pursuant to Government Code 37900, et seq., the City <br />Engineering Services Division advertised for bids <br />regarding this project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, bids were reviewed by the City Council on June 9, 1981; <br /> and <br /> <br />the bid of Sposeto Construction Company of Union City, <br />Inc. in the amount of $11,223.65 was determined to be <br />the lowest responsible bid; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Director of Public Works and Utilities recor~nended <br />that the bid of Sposeto Construction Company of Union <br />City, Inc. be accepted; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an alternate was added to the contract in the event the <br /> bidders' prices were low. <br /> <br />NOW, TI~REFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The bid of Sposeto Construction Company of Union <br /> City, Inc. in the amount of $11,223.65 for sidewalk <br /> repair on various city streets, Project No. 81-11, <br /> is hereby accepted by the City Council as the lowest <br /> responsible bid. <br /> <br />Section 2: The City is authorized to enter into a contract with <br /> Sposeto Construction Company of Union City, Inc. for <br /> the amount of $11,223.65 (including the alternate work) <br /> with the appropriation being increased to $11,793.65. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED ON JUNE 9, 1981 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephar , , Mercer <br /> <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> R.MERCER, MAYOR <br /> TssT:/ t ., APPRovsD AS TO <br />~ Wal y ClerkJ <br /> By Doris George, Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />~vi~ne,~torney <br /> <br /> <br />
