CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO, 81-162 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING EXPENDITURE FROM THE <br />EXPANSION FUND FOR A COGENERATION FACILITY AT <br />THE DSRSD SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />on May 26, 1981, Council received a study by Brown <br />and Caldwell regarding the feasibility of a cogenera- <br />tion project at the DSRSD treatment plant; and <br /> <br />the project would provide electrical power to operate <br />the sewage treatment plant and would conserve about <br />3,400 barrels of oil per year resulting in a net annual <br />cost savings of approximately $26,000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the total estimated cost of the project is $1,030,000, <br />including engineering, legal and administrative expenses; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at this time a specific expenditure from the <br />expansion fund of $260,000 is requested for engineering <br />services to prepare plans and specifications of the <br />cogeneration facility. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Approves the expenditure from the Expansion Fund <br /> of $260,000 for engineering services to prepare plans <br /> and specifications for the cogeneration facility at <br /> the DSRSD Sewage Treatment Plant. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED MAY 26, 1981 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br /> <br />J m R Wa~ll~ ~ <br />By Doris George, Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
