CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-196 <br /> <br />REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR PETERS <br />AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS FROM ST. JOHN STREET TO ST. <br />MARY STREET, PROJECT NO. 81-1 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City prepared plans and specifications for the <br />improvement of Peters Avenue from St. John Street to <br />St. Mary Street, Project No. 81-1; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />pursuant to Government Code 37900, et seq., the City <br />Engineering Services Division advertised for bids <br />regarding this project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the bid of Deetz Construction in the amount of $56,000.00 <br /> was determined to be the lowest responsible bid; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />this project has a remaining appropriation of $55,200.00 <br />already budgeted from section 2107 Gas Tax Funds, this <br />appropriation should be increased to $58,000.00 to cover <br />the estimated contract cost and allow approximately 5% <br />for contingencies; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and Utilities recommended <br /> that the bid of Deetz Contruction be accepted. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Awards the contract for the work to Deetz Construction <br /> in the total amount of $56,000. <br /> <br />Section 2. Approves the increase of the appropriation for this <br /> project by $3600 from Section 2107 Gas Tax Funds. <br /> <br />Section 3.
