CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-209 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION IN OPPOSITION TO AB 1727, DIAMOND <br />LANES ON DUMBARTON BRIDGE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has been asked to comment <br /> on AB 1727 by Assemblyman Sher; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />that Assembly bill would require the Department of <br />Transportation to establish high occupancy vehicle <br />lanes on the new Dumbarton Bridge and its approaches <br />by diamond lanes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />AB 1727 would exempt high occupancy vehicle lanes <br />from an environmental impact analysis as required <br />by CEQA; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Newark has indicated its opposition to <br /> the diamond lanes proposed for the new Dtunbarton Bridge. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON. RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: To go on record as opposing diamond lanes on the <br /> Dumbarton Bridge. <br /> <br />Section 2: Authorizes the Mayor to contact representatives in <br /> the State Assembly and Senate to oppose the enactment <br /> of AB 1727. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective irmnediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED JUNE 23, 1981 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmembers - Kephart, Mohr, Wood and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilmember Butler <br /> <br />.j~am~-~--' ~ ~,J~-,C ' ER, <br />es R.
