CITY COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUntY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-208 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING WELLS FARGO GAJ~FIELD <br /> SENIOR CITIZENS FITNESS TRIAL <br /> <br />WllEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton applied for and received a <br />$2,500 grant from Wells Fargo for a Wells Fargo <br />Gamefield, Senior Citizens Fitness Trail; and <br /> <br />a total of $5,500is ngeded to complete the system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />staff has received pledges from Pleasanton Jaycees for <br />$1,000, from Pleasanton Women's Club for $250 and <br />from the Pleasanton Rotary Club for $1,575; and <br /> <br />WHEP~EAS, <br /> <br />after discussions with Jerry Case, Mike Parsons, and <br />the V.I.P. Club, the site recormnended for the Gamefield <br />is Kottinger Village Park due to its close proximity <br />to senior housing and to Pleasanton Greens which also <br />contains a considerable ntunber of seniors; and <br /> <br />WItEREAS, <br /> <br />City Council received a report from the Director of <br />Recreation and tluman Resources dated June 5, 1981 which <br />included the recommendations of the Park and Recreation <br />Commission. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Approves the Wells Fargo Gamefield - Senior Fitness <br /> Trail to be located in Kottinger Village Park. <br /> <br />Section 2: The donations of Wells Fargo, Pleasanton Jaycees, <br /> Pleasanton Rotary Club and the Pleasanton Women's Club <br /> be recognized by placing a suitably worded plaque <br /> at the site of the Wells Fargo Gamefield. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED JUNE 23, 1981 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYE S: ~ <br /> Councilmembers - Kephart, Mohr, W od and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br /> <br />AB STAIN: <br /> CER, MAYORTt <br /> <br />By Doris George, Deputy City Clerk ~ey~~ · <br /> E. ev~i~orney <br /> <br /> <br />
