CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-236 <br /> <br />REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO JOE FOSTER <br />EXCAVATING FOR SUNOL BOULEVARD OVERLAY, PROJECT <br />NO. 81-8. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City prepared plans and specifications for Sunol <br /> Boulevard Overlay; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />pursuant to Government Code No. 37900, et seq., the <br />City Engineering Services Department advertised for <br />bids regarding this project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />bids were received on July 21, 1981, and it was deter- <br />mined that Joe Foster Excavating was the lowest <br />responsible bidder; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />the Director of Public Works and Utilities, in his <br />report dated July 22, 1981, recommended that said bid <br />be accepted. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />1. The bid of Joe Foster Excavating, in the amount of <br />$79,350.00 for Sunol Boulevard Overlay, Project No. 81-8, <br />is hereby accepted by City Council as the lowest responsible <br />bid. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City is authorized to enter into a contract with <br /> Joe Foster Excavating for the improvements specified above. <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED JULY 28, 1981, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Council members - Butler, Mohr, Wood and Mayor Mercer <br /> <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Kephart <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />By Doris George, Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />~evi~, City Attorney <br /> <br /> <br />
