CITY COUNCIL OF TIIE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUIdTY, CALIFOP.TdIA <br />RESOLUTION id0. 81-227 <br />A RESOLUTION TIAICI?1G APPLICATION TO ALA?4EDA COUTTTY <br />LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION CO?II4ISSION REQUESTING <br />INITIATION OF PROCEEDITdGS FOR PROPOSED ATQNEXATION <br />N0. 87 PURSUANT TO TITE ?NTdICIPAL ORGANIZATION ACT <br />OF 1977 <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the ?4unicipal Organization Act of 1977, <br />beginning with Section 35000 of the Government Code, <br />an affected city, as therein defined, may by resolution <br />adopted by its legislative body, make a proposal for an <br />"Annexation and Detachments" and request initiation of <br />proceedings thereon; and <br />WITEREAS, the City of Pleasanton is an "affected city" for an <br />annexation proposal which contains territory proposed <br />to be annexed as part of said city; and <br />WHEREAS, the owner of said property has consented to this <br />annexation. <br />_ N0L1, TITEREFORE, THE CITY COU2ICIL OF TIIE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />A5 FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1: This City Council, as the legislative body of an <br />affected city, does hereby make a proposal for annexation <br />of the area known as Annexation No. 87 pursuant to the <br />Municipal Organization Act of 1977 and does hereby request <br />proceedings pursuant to such act. <br />Section 2: The annexation shall consist of the following change <br />in organization: <br />That 57 acres bounded by Tlohr Avenue, Oakland <br />Avenue, and Trenery Drive, shall be changed <br />from unincorporated Alameda County lands to <br />land within the City of Pleasanton. <br />Said territory is found to be uninhabited and is more <br />specifically described in Exhibit "A", attached hereto <br />and incorporated herein. <br />Section 3: This City Council does hereby declare that its reasons <br />for proposing this annexation are: <br />The requested annexation appears to be a logical <br />expansion of the city boundaries and would allow <br />- appropriate city control of any future development <br />of the property. <br />
