CITY COUNCIL OF TIIE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUIdTY, CALIFOP.TdIA RESOLUTION id0. 81-227 A RESOLUTION TIAICI?1G APPLICATION TO ALA?4EDA COUTTTY LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION CO?II4ISSION REQUESTING INITIATION OF PROCEEDITdGS FOR PROPOSED ATQNEXATION N0. 87 PURSUANT TO TITE ?NTdICIPAL ORGANIZATION ACT OF 1977 WHEREAS, pursuant to the ?4unicipal Organization Act of 1977, beginning with Section 35000 of the Government Code, an affected city, as therein defined, may by resolution adopted by its legislative body, make a proposal for an "Annexation and Detachments" and request initiation of proceedings thereon; and WITEREAS, the City of Pleasanton is an "affected city" for an annexation proposal which contains territory proposed to be annexed as part of said city; and WHEREAS, the owner of said property has consented to this annexation. _ N0L1, TITEREFORE, THE CITY COU2ICIL OF TIIE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES A5 FOLLOWS: Section 1: This City Council, as the legislative body of an affected city, does hereby make a proposal for annexation of the area known as Annexation No. 87 pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977 and does hereby request proceedings pursuant to such act. Section 2: The annexation shall consist of the following change in organization: That 57 acres bounded by Tlohr Avenue, Oakland Avenue, and Trenery Drive, shall be changed from unincorporated Alameda County lands to land within the City of Pleasanton. Said territory is found to be uninhabited and is more specifically described in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein. Section 3: This City Council does hereby declare that its reasons for proposing this annexation are: The requested annexation appears to be a logical expansion of the city boundaries and would allow - appropriate city control of any future development of the property.
