CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALA}{EDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-222 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CONTRIBUTION OF $12,000 TO <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA AS PARTICIPATION IN SIDEWALK <br />PROJECT ON FOOTHILL ROAD AT 1-580 INTERCt~NGE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at the request of the City Council, the State Department <br />of Transportation reviewed the need for additional <br />pedestrian facilities on Foothill Road in the vicinity <br />of the 1-580 interchange; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the State is considering a project to construct sidewalks <br />in this area and is asking for the City to pay $12,000 <br />towards the $100,000+ project to cover costs of that <br />portion of the project within City jurisdiction; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Council received a report from the Director of Public <br />Works and Utilities dated July 7, 1981 indicating the <br />project would be in the best interests of the public by <br />improving pedestrian safety and recommending participation <br />in the project. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFOREl THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authorizes the staff to advise CALTRANS that the City <br /> is willing to contribute $12,000 to this project to <br /> improve sidewalks on Foothill Road in the vicinity of the <br /> 1-580 interchange. <br /> <br />Section 2.
